{"id":35,"date":"2026-04-06T04:40:00","date_gmt":"2026-04-06T04:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cresources.com.au\/?p=35"},"modified":"2026-04-06T04:55:19","modified_gmt":"2026-04-06T04:55:19","slug":"cronkhill-shrewsbury-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cresources.com.au\/index.php\/2026\/04\/06\/cronkhill-shrewsbury-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Cronkhill, Shrewsbury, UK"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Cronkhill, is regarded as an early manifestation of the picturesque aesthetic, combined with strong Italian influences, to become one of the first buildings in the &#8220;Italianate&#8221; architectural style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was designed by John Nash, in 1803, in collaboration with landscape architect Humphrey Repton. The design is asymmetrical with a round tower at one end and an arched loggia or &#8216;verandah&#8217; extending two sides of the facade.
